Don’t Frame a Degree that Came from a Diploma Mill
September 23rd, 2009 by Best
You have just completed your college education. You’re very proud of the work that you have done to get your degree. One of the first things that you will probably want to do is to purchase a university diploma frame so that you can hang your university diploma on the wall where everyone can see it. There’s nothing wrong with that … unless your diploma came from a diploma mill.
A diploma mill is an institution which you can attend in order to receive a degree in many different areas of study. It looks a lot like a real college although it’s often a college that you attend solely online. The problem is that these schools are for-profit schools that don’t follow the regulations and standards that real colleges follow. They take your money and give you a diploma. If the school is a diploma mill, your college degree doesn’t count for much. And if you hang that diploma on the wall, people who see it may realize that you didn’t attend a real school.
Hopefully you did your homework before you applied to college. As long as the school that you attended was accredited then you have nothing to worry about (even if you did your whole degree online). If you have a diploma from a real school then go right ahead and hang it up. You should be proud!
