Best Careers

Some of the best education information is found before you even reach a classroom.  This next generation has so many opportunities to learn in an unbelievable number of ways thanks to the Internet.  We learn about careers that generations before us would never have known about unless some guidance counselor along the way said “have you ever thought of becoming a ….”

I think that I have officially heard it all now.  The other day, a friend of mine was telling me that you can get a golf associate degree.  I didn’t know this, but there are apparently golf colleges that people can attend in order to study for a career in golf.

I would have never guessed that you could go to a school specifically for that.  I know that people can train to be better golfers, but for other golf related career, I just assumed that a normal college degree would suffice.  Going to college for golf, other than to play golf on a collegiate team, just never came to my mind as a career option for people.

Of course, it does make sense that there are schools out there to prepare people for the golf industry.  At the same time, I don’t know how many people could really take a degree in golf seriously.  Granted, I think it might be a lot of fun.  Instead of skipping class to go play golf, you could just go to your next class and get credit for playing golf. 

I do realize that the school is a little more serious than that.  I know there are many different types of lucrative careers outside physically playing golf.  A school like this would be great for preparing students for a golf career.  I just wonder if the teachers hold up a “quiet please” sign when they begin class.
